Ricardo Goyo

Ricardo Goyo was born in Barcelona in 1972. He began his artistic career studying in France at the National School of Fine Arts in Nice. There he had the opportunity to meet, work, and collaborate in workshops with different contemporary artists.

His artistic career is a constant investigation of contemporary art and especially “Pop Art.” “Pop Art” provided an avenue for artists to explore and subvert traditional themes relating to fine art versus commercial art, public and private art, as well as the idea that all art is integral to the artist who makes it. Within pop art there was a growing trend and interest in emerging “street” and graffiti art which blended well with pop’s idea that art is everywhere. Goyo’s work aims to play off these themes and blur the boundaries between abstraction and Pop utilizing icons of this era, but in new and inventive ways.
